The UC San Diego Department of Physics is committed to expanding access to the physical sciences for students, scientists, and the public. Faculty, staff, and students coordinate a range of outreach activities with the goals of inspiring middle and high school students to pursue education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields; increasing public scientific literacy; and broadly sharing our research. We also participate in initiatives that foster professional growth, support student success, and strengthen the sense of community within the department.
